Clos LaChance Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, California

Winemaker's notes:
Blend: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot

Aromas of sweet blackberries and blueberries with hints of rose petals, plum, vanilla and tobacco. There is also some cedar and anise spice. The mouthfeel of this wine is full and rich. Flavors of briary berry, currant and plum dominate the palate. Ripe tannins balance the fleshy fruit and leave a long, smooth finish.

Food pairings: New York steak with Gorgonzola butter, mustard coated venison with a cherry sauce, chocolate truffles
