Rodney Strong Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, California

The estate was founded by Rodney D. Strong in 1959. He was born in 1927 in Camas, WA where his first love was dance and by age 15 he was practicing 15 hours a day. He traveled to Paris in 1946 to study the styles of Martha Graham and George Balanchine. It was while he was in France that he first became interested in wine and viticulture. He taught dance for a few years after returning to the US and retired in 1959. "I knew I couldn't be an old dancer, but I could be an old winemaker" -Rodney Strong. He purchased a vineyard in 1962 and began his journey into the wine world.
