Hesketh The Protagonist Barossa Valley Shiraz 2008, Australia

TASTING NOTES
Barossa Valley Shiraz - Densely flavored, primary fruit driven, with generous use of American oak. Rich, voluptuous shiraz with layers of intense flavor. The Protagonist employs some restraint which gives it a seam of elegance, belying the power of the fruit. It's what we believe the Barossa does best - power with elegance - a style of wine that has become synonymous with Australia and captivated so many around the world.

90 points ~ Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Review.
Deep ruby-red. Dark berries and cherry-vanilla on the nose, with subtle smoke and licorice notes adding complexity. Fleshy and gently sweet, with deep blackberry and cassis flavors, soft tannins and good back-end lift. The finish repeats the dark berry note and lingers with lively, spicy persistence. Drinking very well right now.
