Chateau Ducasse Bordeaux Blanc Sec 2010, France
Chateau Ducasse has always been one of our most popular white wines here at Pete's, and from vintage to vintage is a staff favorite, though always available for far too short a time each year. Made from 60% Semillon, 35% Sauvignon, and 5% Muscadelle harvested from 50-80 year old vines, it is a scintillating golden in hue with a striking nose of white peach, magnolia blossom, a hint of lemon and mineral. The flavors follow through with what the nose promises, and there is a nice Semillon lushness lifted by the Sauvignon Blanc acidity. The Muscadelle adds an aromatic component that rounds out the experience very nicely. No wood is used at all, and the result is a delightfully aromatic, crisp, dry white that pairs nicely with a wide range of foods.
