Elk Cove Vineyards Pinot Noir 2016, Willamette Valley

Winemaker Notes:

“Blackberry and candied orange scents intertwine with notes of cinnamon and dark chocolate. A vibrant, juicy core of ripe dark cherry and Italian plum shows great freshness of fruit, leading into a long spicy finish of nutmeg, earth and black pepper.”

92 points, James Suckling:

“Plenty of bright, fleshy red cherries on offer here with the beginnings of very detailed, complex style. The tannins are succulently delivered with a very powerful draw and release on the palate. Expansive finish and elegant power.”

90 points, Wine Advocate:

“The 2016 Pinot Noir is pale to medium ruby-purple in color with a bright, open nose of strawberry jam, boysenberry and blueberry preserves with touches of spice and earth. Light to medium-bodied, it gives good concentration of red and blue fruits in the mouth with juicy acidity and fine-grained tannins, finishing with touches of nutmeg and forest floor. This is a great value.”
